EarlychildhoodeducationintheUnitedStatesisprimarilyprovidedbyprivateproviders,suchaschildcarecenters,preschools,andfamilychildcarehomes.Somestates,however,haveestablishedpublicly-fundedprogramsforcertaingroupsofchildren,suchaslow-incomefamiliesorthosewithspecialneeds.

Otherreformeffortshavefocusedonincreasingaccesstoqualityeducationforlow-incomeanddisadvantagedstudents,suchasincreasingfundingforprogramssuchasHeadStartorexpandingaccesstocollegethroughscholarshipsandfinancialaid.
